Irradiation of the spleen, combined with huge dosage of Amicar -problem mostly solved.

I almost died in 2006 due to ITP. After almost three months of different treatments/medications my spleen was removed and slowly my platelet count went up. Haven’t had an issue since thank God.

What has worked short term- total knee replacement surgery! It took months to get my count up high enough for the surgery; but after the surgery, my platelets had a party. They went up into the 300s and stayed there a few weeks. Now they are slowly headed back down despite being on 75 mg of eltrombopag. But it was a weird result from surgery that no one can explain.

Didn't work IV's, Rituxan 4 doses work for 4 years then after othrr doses start decreasing to 3 year then 2 and that time get CMV bad times. They start with Promacta 25mg it work for 1 year then liver enzymes raise doble than normal. Change was made to Doptelet 20mg no liver damage and working great. After 6 months 180,000 to 223,000 platelets count. And dose when down to 1 tablet every 10 days. Nice. Not on every one works the same maybe you need every day. Your Dr would tell you.
