I would advise against deep tissue massage and gua sha (scraping massage). With low platelet counts, these aggressive massage techniques could cause excessive bruising or bleeding under the skin. Instead, consider gentle massage techniques like light Swedish massage, and always inform your massage therapist about your ITP. Check with your hematologist about what platelet count is safe for massage.
